A Custodian of Veteran Bond Serves Those Who Served

When a veteran of a branch of the military has invested their money with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and been deemed incapacitated, the VA may appoint a guardian to handle their assets. The VA may require that the guardian post a bond to guarantee that they will not misuse the veteran’s assets.

Bond Premiums and Bond Amounts:

Premium amount is $5/ thousand or 1/2% of the bond amount. Minimum of $100.

Bond amount will be set by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

While there are similarities between a Custodian of Veteran Bond and Guardianship Bond, the two are not interchangeable.
